This morning I will write about something I rarely ever write about: the New York Yankees. As many of you know they were eliminated from the playoffs last night, and it didn’t take long for sentiment on their stud-outfielder Giancarlo Stanton to turn dark. Let’s not forget that Stanton hit 38 homeruns and 100 RBI’s this season, and played every day during a stretch when most Yankees were hurt. Who knows where they would’ve ended up without him. But have one bad playoff series? Fans are calling for trades, and how he bad he stinks.
As advisors, let’s learn a lesson from this. No matter how much value you bring to your clients, certain clients will turn their back on you at the first sign of trouble. We need to continue to provide value, stay the course, be true to yourselves, and all will work out in the end.
