A tweet from Ryan Detrick (@RyanDetrick) this morning got me thinking. Today could be the 80th day in a row that the S&P 500 doesn’t close up or down at least 1%. His point was through all the headlines and perceived turmoil, this has been one of the most tranquil market periods ever.
Keep that in mind the next time you, or a client, are starting to get rattled by all of the headlines. The market is going to do what it does regardless.
