The MLB offseason is winding down, and a large number of big name players have yet to sign with teams. My favorite team, the Mets, have surprisingly been one of a few teams who have actually gone out and signed necessary players to their roster. Granted, signing Todd Frazier, Adrian Gonzalez, and Jay Bruce aren’t the sexiest signings, the Mets addressed their needs in a timely fashion. With pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training in less than 10 days, it’s extremely interesting to see the number of free agents still available. The old economic law of supply and demand is working its magic right now, and the owners are simply watching as these players hold out for HUGE contracts, and slowly back themselves into a corner.
