A lot of people in this country have a 401(k) plan available to them at work.  A lot of companies choose to automatically enroll their employees in these plans.  A lot of employees probably SHOULD NOT be contributing to these plans just yet.  A lot of people have serious financial issues, and cash flow needs, that should be addressed BEFORE the 401(k).  Tom dives deeper into this issue in his recent blog post: ‘Coercion versus Changing Behavior’
