The old market adages like “Sell in May, Go Away” often seem foolish. However, this year it seemed to really workout that way. We’re closing in on the end of the 6 month period of “Sell in May, Go Away”, and October has given back all of the gains that were made this year. What does that mean moving forward? Not sure. Should you hang your hat on an adage like that every year? Probably not. It just is interesting watching these things work themselves out though.
