Bio-Techs Are Coming: We Will Be Prepared

June 28, 2011 by Thomas Mullooly

Weekly Commentary for April 19, 2011

OK, not quite Paul Revere’s Ride, but still, you need to know: the bio-techs are coming.

Part of what we do is observe which sectors are on the move …both UP and DOWN. It’s important to be aware of how sectors of the market can rise or fall, and then act accordingly.

Yes, it’s easy to throw a blanket and say “all large caps are out of favor” or “all small caps are rocking,” Now those are ASSET classes, not sectors. And small and mid cap stocks DO rock.

If you are relying on a blog post for specific investment advice, you are making a huge mistake. Please speak with an investment adviser before making ANY investment decisions.

If you do not have an investment adviser, we encourage you to contact Mullooly Asset Management at 732-223-9000, or through our website.

Under no circumstances should the content discussed on this post be considered specific investment advice.

But the top SECTORS – right now – include Precious Metals, Internet, Basic Materials, Commodities. The internet has been a top performer for a while, but the technical scores are actually drooping.

Yes, drooping, not dropping. Still a top sector.

***** ***** *****

But — waiting on deck : BioTech. Yes, BioTech.

Their technical scores do not quite put them in the spotlight. Kind of like Prescott and Dawes. These two fellows also alerted folks in the Lexington area.  But only Paul Revere gets the credit. Perhaps it was easier to find words rhyming with Revere than “Prescott.”

So, small and mid cap stocks continue to get attention. And now, biotechs too. Like that guy on the horse way back in 1775.

Oh, by the way: I’m not too sure there are lots of large cap bio-tech companies out there.  But there sure are lots of small and mid cap bio-tech companies. Funny how that works, isn’t it?

Never miss a post...and we deliver!
