After having worked in the industry for over two decades (first as a retail stockbroker, then as a branch manager of a local investment bank), it became clear to me that individuals and families weren’t getting the personalized financial guidance they needed and desired.

What they needed was a trusted adviser who worked on the same side of the table as them. What happened instead was too many good people were being left in the dark because their advisors weren’t working in their best interest.

I grew tired of working with “professionals” who put their interests ahead of their clients. There is nothing professional about that. I saw no need for the three-inch-thick financial plans which made no sense and cost a fortune. And, I was tired of hearing stories of how much managers made, while clients lost money.
